Frase de Chake Spencer " Creo que Sam es una persona que ha sido metido en circunstancias extraordinarias. Ha tenido que sacrificar demasiado. Sam es como el jefe de policía. Él a tomado el cargo de ser el protector y el guía para los otros chicos que están pasando por la traumante experiencia de convertirse hombres lobo, porque no había nadie ahí para guiarlo mientras. La relación de Bella y Jacob no es algo bueno para Sam. Ella está enamorada de un vampiro, y se está metiendo en un problema en lo que él está tratando de hacer por proteger a su gente".

Frase de Taylor: "El odio que hombres lobo y vampiros se tienen el uno al otro viene desde hace mucho. El tratado es lo más importante, Jacob siempre recuerda a los vampiros sobre el tratado. Así que tenemos una escena al final donde Jacob, Bella y Edward están juntos y Jacob es excluido. Edward estaba por irse con Bella y Jacob le recuerda a Edward, una vez más " Recuerda el tratado."

El tatuaje que los miembros de la manada tuvieron que diseñar, basados en una serie de cuentos que el productor de diseño, David Brisban, escuchó cuando estuvo visitando la tribu Quileute. Usaron recortes a gran escala como una referencia visual para los lobos. Cada una pesaba entre 20 y 30 libras y tenía un agujero adentro para utilizar en caso de que alguien fuera a cargarlos.

A los lobos se les fueron dadas las características basadas en los actores que los interpretraban, lo cual está ligado al personaje de la historia. ( Sam = grande y negro) (Paul= mucho músculo y agresivo) ( Embry= delgado y pequeño).

Fue importante hacer el lobo de Jacob "un ícono". En la animación tenía que cargar consigo mismo con un aire de orgullo y nobleza.

Los animadores estudiaron lobos verdaderos en manadas para ayudarse a obtener un sentimiento profundo por la criatura que estaban creando.

El modelo principal fue el lobo de Jacob, todos los demás están basados en él.

Taylor hizo su propio truco para la "escena de la transformación" y no sólo tenía que saltar sobre Kristen, pero fue arreglada por lo que dejaría en el aire antes de la transformación. Su cuerpo también fue reemplazado por una versión CG para esa parte de la escena.

El primer trailer que pasaron en los MTV awards fue sólo un ensayo general. Ellos no tuvieron todo el tiempo que necesitaban para poner algunos efectos durante la transformación de Jacob y desde entonces han agregado a él.

Los nómadas o salvajes tienen una nueva apariencia en New Moon, más elegantes, menos rock and roll, esto fue en la dirección de Chris. El sentimiento fue que ellos estuvieron en una matanza y tuvieron efectos personales de sus víctimas, y eso fue mejores atuendos.

Victoria es más estética, menos natural con ropas que reflejaban y mostraban movimiento .

Laurent es más estético, sin embargo Edi pidió que le dejaran el pecho descubierto debajo de su chaqueta.

Rachelle hizo sus acrobacias durante la escena del bosque donde su personaje estaba siendo perseguido por Charlie y los "cazadores". Ella estuvo en los árboles balancéandose en los cables.

Una de las imágenes de Rachelle de la compañía la muestra sentada en el suelo frente a una montón de cenizas, ¿podría ser James?

Frase de Taylor: " Definitivamente creo que es un prejuicio que los hombres lobos tienen contra todos los vampiros. Y, especialmente para Jacob, es por Edward Cullen, el chico que tiene a su chica. pero, tengo que admitirlo, "los Cullen" son unos vampiros muy decentes".

El guardarropa de los Cullen fue actualizado. Chris Weitz sintió que en Twilight estuvieron un poco separados de colores del resto de las personas en el pueblo. La aparición de Edward fue vista como una llama moviéndose elegantemente y fluidamente. Chris se movía alrededor de este porque era como si Edward estuviera llevando una antorcha para Bella.

En 90% del film, Rob aparece con el mismo traje que llevaba en la fiesta de cumpleaños de Bella.

Este es un flashback original en la escena del prado con el "efecto de brillo" cambiado.

Los productores del film querían hacer una fresca interpretación del efecto del"chico diamante", similar a una noche soleada con nieve. o.o"Decidimos hacer algo basado en el brillo de esta escultura de mármol de Thasos, una isla griega, que pensaba que iba acorde con el efecto de vampiro del autor. Tiene una clase de estructura cristalina, ese brillo como diamante.Otra inspiración fue la manera en que Tiffany ilumina sus diamantes, como la multi-facética superficie brilla cuando la luz lo toca. Desde ese punto de partida, nosotros luego quisimos unir esas cualidades con una ligera translucidez."

Edward llega a Italia vistiendo el mismo traje que usó por meses. El traje impecable ahora está raído, el saco se ha ido, su pantalón y sus zapatos están desgastados.

Frase de Chris Weitz " Creo que dos mil años de vida han hecho a los Volturi locos, les ha dejado a ellos pensar que son prácticamente dioses, y les ha dado una actitud perversa hacia la vida humana".

Bella primerio vió a los Volturi en una pintura en la casa de los Cullen. En una mágica transición la cámara se enfoca en una pintura y nos lleva al pasado.

Había dos vistas para los Volturi, una de 1800 y otra contemporánea. En la de 1800 Aro está vestido en la más ligera de ropa y en el tiempo presente él está en lo más oscuro, mostrando su estado y poder.

Una frase de Michal Sheen: "De una manera, interpretar a un vampiro es como interpretar a Hamlet, han habido tantas descripciones. Aro es peligroso, mortal y poderoso, aunque la manera en que está escrito él no viene como un personaje siniestro de Drácula- Stephenie describe su voz en el libro como plumas y como un largo suspiro. Me gusta la idea de que los vampiros, generalmente, como una especie, son muy atractivos a sus presas. Son depredadores perfectos, ellos han evolucionado para ser capaces de persuadir a su presa, los humanos, a ellos".

Frase de Kristen: "Es divertido, el libro dice que no tienen consideración por los humanos, pero la forma en que Aro trata a Edward y Bella es demasiado compasiva".

" En el guión original, Melissa Rosenberg tuvo la idea de tener una gran batalla con Edward y Alice, incluso la lucha y se colgó su alrededor. Stephenie le reclamó y apuntó que Félix será un reto suficiente para Edward.

La idea de la pelea no era mostrar una batalla de super héroes. " Edward es como el chico bueno capturado en una mala situación".

La velocidad de los vampiros para Luna Nueva significa "cámara lenta". Encontramos de que si aumentas la velocidad de una cámara se vería tonto.

La escena de la pelea cambia desde la perspectiva de Bella viendo la pelea, a poner a la audiencia dentro con los vampiros mientras pelean.

En el punto de que la cabeza de Edward se golpea contra el piso de mármol y su piel de vampiro parece romperse, junto con el piso. Parece que Edward está acabado, pero su herida de momento se cura. Chris Weitz habla con Stephenie y consiguió su aprobación. Todas las ideas o preguntas siempre pasan por Stephenie desde que ella tiene toda la mitología en su cabeza.

Frase de Rob: "Todos los vampiros, especialmente los Volturi, parecen muy cómodos con su existencia, pero ellos se ven a sí mismos como monstruos. Edward is about to leave with Bella and Jacob reminds Edward, one last time "Remember the treaty." {ok this gives me shivers}

**The tattoo the wolfpack members have was designed based on a series of tales the Production Designer, David Brisban, heard while visiting the Quileute tribe. "One thread that really stuck in my mind referenced the twinning of the wolf character having to do with strength and togetherness." It is a double wolf motif and had 6 variations in both black and red, but one was chosen that is all black.

**They used full scale cutouts as a visual reference for the wolves. Each weighed 20-30 lbs and had a hole in the side for someone to use to carry them.

**The wolves were each given characteristics based on the actors playing them, which is linked to the characters in the story. (Same=big and black) (Paul=more muscular and aggressive) (Embry=thinner and smaller)

**It was important to make Jacob's wolf "iconic". In the animation he had to carry himself with an air of pride and nobility.

**The animators studied real wolves in packs to help them get a deeper feeling for the creature they were creating.

**The main model was Jacob's wolf, all the others are based off of that.

**Taylor did his own stunt for the "phase scene" and not only had to leap over Kristen, but was rigged so he'd stop in the air before the transformation. His body was also replaced with a CG version for part of the shot.

**The 1st trailer that was at the MTV awards was a "dress rehersal". They didn't have all the time they needed to put some of the effects in during Jacob's transformation and have since added to it.

**"What's special about Jacob is he's the only one who transforms in mid-air..." quote from Taylor

**The Nomadic or Feral vampires have a new look in New Moon, more elegant, less rock and roll, this was at Chris' direction. The feeling was that they had been on a killing spree and had personal effects from their victims, and thus better clothes.

**Victoria is more stylish, less earthy with clothes that flow and show movement

**Laurent is more stylish, yet Edi asked to keep the bare chest showing under his jacket.

**Rachelle did her stunts during the forest scene where her character is being chased by Charlie and the "hunters". She was swinging through the woods on wires.

**One of the pictures of Rachelle from the companion shows her sitting on the floor in front of a pile of ashes, could this be James??

**Quote from Taylor:"I definatly think it's a prejudice the werewolves have towards all vampires. And, especially for Jacob, it's because Edward Cullen, the guy who has his girl. But, I gotta admit, {the Cullens} are pretty decent vampires"

**Wardrobe for the Cullens was updated. Chris Weitz felt that in Twilight they were a little too seperated color wise from the rest of the people in town. So they added a bit more to the color pallete, staying in the cool realm, but moving away from pastel hues to steel grays and blues.

**Makeup was changed also to make them more translucent, without appearing stark white.

**Wig's changed as well, but in limited ways since they were limited by what was all ready established in the first film. In Twilight Nikki bleached her hair, but for New Moon she is wearing a wig. Laurent's wig was changed from synthetic to one made with real human hair.

**Edward's appartion was seen as a "flame" moving elegantly and fluidly. Chris gravitated toward this because it was like Edward was carrying a torch for Bella.

**For 90% of the film Rob appears in the same suit he wore at Bella's birthday party.

**There is an original flashback to the meadow scene with changed "sparkle effect"

**The film makers wanted to make a fresh interpretation of the "diamond guy" effect, similar to sunight on snow.
"We decided to something based on the sparkle of this statuary marble from Thasos, a Greek Island, which I always kind of thought the author was going for with this vampire effect. It has a kind of crystalline structure, this diamond sparkle. Another inspiration was the way Tiffany lights its diamonds, how the multifaceted surface sparkles when light hits it. From that starting point, we then wanted to enhance those qualities with a slight translucency."

**Edward arrives in Italy wearing the SAME suit he's worn for months. The pristine suit is now threadbare, the jacket is gone, his pants are diry and his shoes are all scuffed up! {ok this is making me cry thinking of it.....poor Edward!!}

**Chris Weitz quote "I think two thousand years of living has made the Volturi slightly nuts, has led them to think they're pratcially gods, and has given them a perverse attitude to human life."

**Bella's first view of the Volturi is in a painting at the Cullen's house. In a magical transition the camera pushes into the painting and takes us back to the past.

**There were two looks for the Volturi, one for the 1800's and one for contemporary. In the 1800's Aro is dressed in the lightest clothing and in the present time he is in the darkest, all showing status and power.

**Michael Sheen quote: "In a way, playing a vampire is sort of like playing Hamlet, there have been so many depictions. Aro is dangerous and deadly and powerful, yet the way he is written he doesn't come across as a sinister Dracula character--Stephenie describes his voice in the book as being feathery and like a long sigh. I love the idea that the vampires, generally, as a species are very attractive to their prey. They're the perfect predators, they've evolved to be able to lure their prey, the humans, to them."

**Kristen quote: "It's funny, the book says they have no regard for human life, but the way Aro treats Edward and Bella is oddly compassionate."

**In the original screenplay Melissa Rosenberg had the idea of having a huge battle with Edward and even Alice fighting and being slung around. Stephenie reined her in and pointed out that Felix would be a challenge enough for Edward.

**The idea of the fight was not to show a superhero battle. "Edward is like the average guy caught in a bad situation."

**Vampire speed for New Moon means "slow motion". We found if you sped up the camera speed it would look silly.

**The fight scene switches from the perspective of Bella watching the fight, to putting the audience in with the vampires as they fought.

**MAJOR FIGHT SPOILER:

At one point Edward's head gets smashed on the marble floor and his vampire skin appears to crack, along with the floor. It seems Edward is done for, but his wound suddenly heals. Chris Weitz spoke with Stephenie and got her approval. Any ideas or questions always went through Stephenie since she has the whole mythology in her head.

Quote from Rob: "All the vampires, especially the Volturi, seem very comfortable with their existence, but they see themselves as monsters. And when they see this human who says, "I love this guy,' they all obviously want that, too. They want ot believe that can happen. So that curiousity, their fascination with that, is essentially what saves him."

**Quote from Michael Sheen: "There are a lot of things involved in the idea of playing someone who's sort of immortal. Aro, for me, has a genuine fascination with people, with vampires, with other beings. He can get caught up in the drama of what's going on for people. He can be delighted by someone one moment, and kill them the next."

**The initial cut of the film was 3 hours. "I know Twilight fans will think 'Three hours of Edward and Bella and Jacob, that would be heaven, But the reality was it was too flabby. So we had to cut down the length, but it was never about cutting scenes, just cutting down the length of scenes." Peter Lambert, editor

**More from Peter Lambert "This is a movie with visual effects and action and horror, but it's really a love story, we're on an emotional journey with the characters. and Kristen, Taylor and Robert were amazing, they were totally into their characters."

**word from Summit President, Erig Feig, "Each book has a central emotional quandry and scope and we've tried to find the right directors for each. Twiligth is raw and real and Catherine Hardwicke was the first director I met with and the only director for that movie. New Moon has more complicated emotions with bigger forces at work, and Chris Weitz was the director with the skill to show that. On Eclipse the challenge is how do you visualize and show an audience that choice has consequences, that Bella is ina crucible of multiple decisions and option? Who can get that David Slade."

**Final word from Chris Weitz "This movie, for me, has been redemptive. I had a difficult go on my last film, where I felt the movie was kind of taken away from me. This movie has been a joy in comparison and I've been able to make use of everything I've learned up to this point, and I've gotten the chance to work with some extraordinary people. Going in, I didn't realize the enthusiasm of the fan base, and that was also inspiring. As Peter Lambert and I sat in the editing room, it gave me an added incentive. I don't think anyone knew there would be this degree of enthusiasm and that there would be this cyclonic snowball effect of books and films feeding on one another to make this amazing cultrual moment."
