“El lobo de Taylor Lautner en el primer trailer no era el lobo completamente terminado” dice Chris.

Para los fans que prestan atención en las muestras de New Moon que han sido mostradas en las últimas semanas, ellos habrán notado que el lobo de Taylor Lautner cuando Jacob se transforma se ve un poco mas diferente que en el primer trailer que se mostro.

Bueno, eso es porque es diferente…unas 500 veces diferente.

“Todas las tomas CGI pasan por cientos de interacciones” el director Chris Weitz explico “Por ejemplo, la primera muestra que dimos era un trabajo en progreso. Era probablemente la versión 150. Esa misma toma ahora está en su versión 550, creo”

Mucho trabajo fue hecho por 4 meses desde que el primer trailer salió hasta los más recientes trailers, pero esa no es ni siquiera la versión final que será vista en los cines “Todavía estamos trabajando en eso hasta el ultimo día posible” dijo Chris.

Con el lanzamiento de New Moon a menos de 1 mes, ese día se acerca. Afortunadamente, los lobos se ven significativamente más asustadizos que lo que se viene la primera vez que se los vio.

“Dan más miedo ahora. Ese siempre fue el objetivo” dijo Chris “El objetivo fue hacerlos los más feroces posibles, y siguen poniéndose mas y mas feroces y peligrosos mientras pasa el tiempo”.

Los trailers recientes han mostrado a toda la manada completa y Jacob no es el único lobo en el cual los fans han notado cambios. De todas formas su transformación saltando es la mejor parte que Chris quería asegurarse que New Moon tuviera, inclusive cuando la animación no está perfeccionada aun.

“Realmente queríamos mostrar con el primer trailer que había estos lobos, que podíamos convertir de hombres a lobos en medio del aire, lo cual no es un logro pequeño. Estamos poniendo una prueba en el concepto del tiempo, pero no era completo, terminado como el que se verá en la película.”

'New Moon' Director Chris Weitz Says Wolf Pack Has Gotten 'Scarier'

Well, that's because it is different — about 500 times different.

"Every CGI shot goes through sometimes hundreds of iterations," director Chris Weitz explained. "Like, for instance, that first shot we put out was a work in progress. It was probably version 150 or something. That shot itself is now at version 550, I think."

Lots of tinkering went on in the four months from when the first trailer was released until the most recent teasers, but that's not even the final version that's going to be seen in theaters. "We're still tweaking them to the last possible day," he said.

With the release of "New Moon" less than a month away, that day looms ever closer. Fortunately, the wolves are looking significantly more terrifying than they did the first time around.

"They're much scarier by now. That was always the aim," Weitz said. "The aim was to make them as fierce as possible, and they just got more and more and more dangerous as time went on."

Recent trailers have shown the wolf pack in its entirety, and Jacob is not the only werewolf fans have seen change. Still, his jumping transformation was the money shot Weitz wanted to make sure "New Moon" viewers saw — even though the animation hadn't been perfected yet.

"We really wanted to show with that first trailer [that] there were going to be these werewolves; that we could turn a guy into a werewolf in midflight, which was no small achievement," Weitz said. "We were putting out a proof of the concept at the time, but it wasn't the full-fledged, pimped-out wolf that it was going to end up being."
